Kylie and Jean - a beautiful wedding at droombos, windhoek
Nestled on the outskirts of Windhoek, lies one of the many beautiful wedding venues Namibia has to offer: Droombos. It was here that Kylie and Jean decided to exchange their marriage vows, after much consideration and planning from across the border. Kylie is originally from Namibia, and when she moved to South Africa to study, that's where she met Jean. He knew from the moment he saw her that she was the one, and even though she didn't make it easy for him, his persistence led to her "yes" and here they are!
I had the privilege of meeting them both for the first time on their wedding day, but through my correspondence with Kylie, I didn't feel like we were strangers when we met at all! In fact, both of them radiate so much warmth, down-to-earthness and authenticity that Duncan and I could have been part of the wedding guests.
As a Namibian photo and video team, we've had the honour of documenting quite a few weddings under the Namibian sun, but I found myself resonating with Kylie in a personal way - both of us are daughters of Namibia in a sense. meeting our husbands across the border, but celebrating our union and love in our home country. Jean actually convinced Kylie to do it this way, adding to the sentiment of their wedding day.
