JJ & ESMARIE'S WEDDING AT ETOSHA CORNER,
NAMIBIA
I met JJ at one of his friends' weddings that we shot in 2023. Duncan and I were on our way back to where we were staying after finishing off the night, when JJ popped up next to Duncan's window saying "same time, same place next year!" And so it was decided that we would capture his and Esmarie's very special day.
Initially it was touch and go on whether we would be their photographers, because we moved all the way to Cape Town. But they were the first to know when we decided to move back to the land of milk and honey, and Esmarie told me how excited she was when she got that email from me - immediately showing it to JJ! It was a done deal, and we couldn't be more thrilled.
JJ and Esmarie are such a warm, kind and friendly pair. Having met them before and also doing an engagement shoot for them, we felt so comfortable, relaxed and at home on their wedding day. We know most of the people there, and we felt like we were part of the celebrations! I had to swallow down the huge lump in my throat when I saw JJ'a tears as Esmarie was walking down the aisle. Not to mention Esmarie's tears when her dad gave her away.
We ended up staying longer than usual - not because we had to work, but because we had so much fun chatting to the guests!
Etosha Corner did a stellar job at making the couples dreams come true, and Esmarie looked absolutely stunning with a dress from Vanilla Confetti bridal.
Yet another wedding we will not soon forget!
