ASHA & MICHAU'S BEAUTIFUL WEDDING AT OTJIWA SAFARI LODGE, NAMIBIA
I've known Asha since school, and I knew of Michau (even though he attended another high school). So it was quite a nice full circle moment, getting to be the one to document their special day! It was one of those weddings where we felt comfortable, included and we also just had a really great time with the rest of the guests. Lots of Asha's school friends were there, and Michau is on the Namibian cricket team - we've done a wedding for one of their team members before and they also attended the wedding. So we knew the crowd and we knew we would get along.
I guess our goal would be to photograph the whole cricket team!
I just have to say something about their relationship, even though I'm in danger of sounding really cheesy. But they just have this incredibly cute way of interacting with each other. Michau's goofiness mixed with Ashas patient and kind personality - they just compliment and complete each other. It was so evident that the chemistry between them was almost tangible on their wedding day.
Since seeing them the last time, they've invited us to their farm over a weekend, and we're seriously considering taking them up on their offer. Isn't it wonderful how our job gifts us with clients that then become friends?
To Asha and Michau: we wish you such a blessed an happy marriage and we hope that this wouldn't be the last time we get to have you in front of our lenses.
